The Bakers: A Beautiful Family Photo Session in October

This past October, I had the pleasure of photographing the Baker family—Julie, Jason, and their absolutely gorgeous kids. Let me tell you, when it comes to picture-perfect families, they take the cake. Seriously, every single one of them is so stunning it’s almost unfair. But let’s not hold that against them. 😉

The day of the shoot was a scorcher, the kind of unseasonably hot October day that makes you wonder if fall forgot to show up. And, for a little personal backstory, it was only two weeks after my radical hysterectomy. (Is that TMI? Maybe, but when you’ve spent 20+ years battling endometriosis and you hit age 45, sharing this kind of thing feels like no big deal.) Despite the post-surgical fatigue and a healthy dose of brain fog, I couldn’t have asked for a better family to work with that day.

The Bakers brought their A-game. Their love and joy for each other were so apparent in every smile, every laugh, and every interaction. Even though I found myself running low on pose ideas thanks to my foggy brain, this family’s natural chemistry made every shot a winner. They didn’t just show up for a photo session—they brought warmth, authenticity, and plenty of fun.

Looking back at the photos, I’m reminded of how much I enjoyed this session, even under less-than-ideal circumstances. The Bakers made the whole experience so special, and I couldn’t be happier with how the pictures turned out.

To Julie, Jason, and your beautiful crew: thank you for trusting me to capture your family’s memories. I loved every minute of it!
