There are some sessions where everything just clicks—the couple, the location, the light, the laughter—and this was definitely one of those shoots.

Kiley reached out and asked if we could do her and Nathan’s engagement photos at the historic Judsonia Bridge. I immediately said yes, because I’ve had that location on my photographer dream list for a while! It’s such a unique piece of Arkansas history, over 100 years old, and still very much in use. So yes—it’s beautiful, but it’s also a working bridge. Cue the challenge. 😅

Between cars and trucks crossing mid-shoot, some less-than-lovely roadkill nearby, and temperatures that felt more like August than spring, it could’ve been chaos. But instead, it turned into one of my absolute favorite sessions to date.

Kiley and Nathan are so in love, and being around them is just contagious joy. The way they look at each other, the way they laugh, the little ways they interact—it was all so natural and fun to capture. And let’s talk about the light that day... it was truly something special. Soft, golden, and glowing in all the right ways, like it was showing off just for them.

Their wedding is coming up this November, and after this session, I cannot wait to photograph their big day. If this shoot was any preview of what’s to come, I already know it’s going to be beautiful in every way.

A verse that kept coming to mind during this session was: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8You could feel that kind of love between them—deep, sincere, and full of grace.

Kiley and Nathan, thank you for trusting me with these moments. What an honor it is to tell your love story.

– Carolyn
